SIGNS YOU NEED TO DO MORE CLASS PREPARATION

You give your students a "work day," and then you realize that you haven't assigned any work yet.

You've already shown them the same video seven times.

You've given your students so much naptime that all of their sleep deficits have been transformed into sleep surpluses.

Your substitute teacher makes better use of class time than you do.

You've been trying to stay one chapter ahead of your students in the textbook, but now they are two chapters ahead of you.

It's time for midterm parent-teacher conferences, and you still don't have any grades in your gradebook.

The students really seem to enjoy working with manipulatives, but at home, your son is beginning to wonder where all his toys went.

It used to really bug you when students asked, "What are we doing tomorrow?" Now it really bugs you when they ask, "What are we supposed to be doing now?"
